Here is a brief outline of the timetable….

FRIDAY 19TH JUNE

Arrivals and socialising at the hotel

SATURDAY 20TH JUNE – Daytime

Malcolm Dunn is arranging a 42 mile, circular driving tour of North Oxfordshire.  The proposed route will be described in detail and takes us from the Holt Hotel to a first stop at Hook Norton Brewery.  Here you can take refreshments in the café, and optionally for those interested, you can book a tour of the Brewery in advance.  A further twenty minute drive will bring you to Upton House & Gardens.  Under the care of the NT this house was the country retreat of Lord and Lady Bearsted in the 1930s and offers dramatic terraced gardens and a world renowned art collection. The Pavilion Café offers a great location for a light lunch, indoors or outdoors, and gives the opportunity for those of us on the tour to meet up.  On the return leg, and time allowing, the option exists to stop at various picturesque villages.  Malcolm and Kate Dunn will provide a pack with route details and guidance, suggested timings and further information, and will also be on the tour themselves.  Members can of course choose to follow their own routes and timetable if they wish.

For those looking for more automotive destinations, options include the British Motor Museum at Gaydon, a 25 mile drive from the hotel avoiding the M40.  Alternatively a more modern, racing orientated experience can be had at the Silverstone Museum, 22 miles up the A43.

Please email Malcolm HERE for further information or to express your interest in the Upton House visit.
